Hi and happy Tuesday! Another snow day here, but I will be going in to do a few things since schools are technically only closed to students ... it automatically becomes a teacher workday.
The other day I mentioned that I was working on some baby thank you cards for a friend of mine who is expecting her firstborn. She often orders cards from me, so I decided to beat her to it and make her some as a gift. I shared some before with a sock monkey image from Unity. The ones here are my most recent design for her in two color ways. I really like the onesie template from PTI, but I thought the shirt was a little too wide for my taste, so I just made my own template. I used a brown Sharpie marker to "stitch" the shirts and add some little "snaps" since brads would have been too big for these little guys on my 4-1/4" square cards. I think they turned out pretty cutesy-wootsy if I do say so myself. I'd love to make some in pink and doll them all up, but she's expecting a boy so that wouldn't be the best idea I ever had!
Before I run off to my classroom, I wanted to share a few pictures of our snowfall. In NC, we don't get much so while its not all that outrageous to some of you northerners, this is enough to stop everything down here! For a few days. Seriously. The picture below is looking out our front door on Saturday morning (it started snowing Friday night).
And this picture is one we took on Saturday afternoon when we ventured out to our local shopping center ... mostly just to get out of the house. (And my husband wanted some Doritos. LOL) This much snow is enough make people clean out the grocery stores like food was never going to be seen again. Literally, the ENTIRE aisle of chips at the Super Wal-Mart was completely barren. It was hilarious. So was seeing these seagulls come flying at the car when my husband rolled down the window so I could get a good photo. You can see the window (left bottom corner) is on its way back up since we weren't expecting a scene from the movie, The Birds. (I guess they figured we were there to feed them?!)
Anyway, thanks for stopping by! Have a great day everyone!
