Easter Cards

Hey y'all! So far I've been enjoying my Spring Break. Today I worked on several Easter cards, which I will be sharing over the next few days. Here's one of them that I came up with ...
I must say that I am really into this crinkled seam binding that I got. I bought some supplies to start making my own ... more to come on that in a few days! :-) This card is pretty simple ... mostly some patterned paper and then some Copic markers. Very easy.

Well that is all I've got for now ... back to playing around with paper and stamps so I can get these Easter cards in the mail! Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Verve - Everlasting Life
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa; Copic markers; PTI Chai, Chamomile
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream; K& Co patterned paper

A Swappy Hello

Happy Monday! This is one Monday that I am excited about ... just have school today and then its Spring Break for the rest of the week. Truth be told ... I am already mentally checked out! I am sure my students are too! LOL

Anywho ... I have been swapping cards with some of the best ladies on SCS for quite some time. They all are great card makers and I always love the cards I get back from this group. This time, I decided to make a set of cards that were based off of some that Betsy made. I adore the cards she made and will be trying out her super duper cute flowers over the break.
Love it! Such fun colors! :-) Hope my swapping buddies like them too. :-) Tip for mass producing ... use dies to cut stuff out and make all the pieces for part at one time and then set up your assembly line. The new PTI dies cut like a dream ... you can cut 2 layers of card stock pretty easily and cleanly in one pass through the Cuttlebug. Nice! I wish I had gotten the die for the frame, but honestly, I wasn't sure I'd like this frame at first, but its growing on me. :-)

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a fabulous day :-)

Supplies Used (all PTI unless noted):
Stamps: Delightful Dahlia, Fillable Frames #1 & #2, Polka Dot Basics II
Ink: Hawaiian Shores, Chai, Raspberry Fizz, True Black, New Leaf; SU! Blender pen
Paper: Kraft, Hawaiian Shores, White, New Leaf, Raspberry Fizz Bitty Box
Other: foam tape; KaiserCraft rhinestones; Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder

Forever Friend

Hey y'all! I have spent today relaxing and tidying up my craft room. It was a disaster after the whirlwind of letter shirt orders! I still have a bit more organizing to do, but I am definitely feeling better about being in my office/craft room! LOL

While I was working on my 2 Sketches 4 You cards yesterday, I whipped up another card with that pretty My Mind's Eye Ooh La La paper. Here it is ...The honeycomb paper is the backside of the paisley. Love it! I wish I had bought more of it. I used the frame stamp from Fillable Frames #2 and cut it to extend it below the paper and ribbon strip. I like how this turned out and already have it ready to go out in the mail tomorrow to a special friend. :-)

Well, back to organizing and then some laundry. Want to be done by later tonight so I can watch the new Life series. It was great last week! :-)

Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: PTI Fillable Frames #2; Friends Til the End
Ink: PTI Ocean Tides, Chai

2 Sketches 4 You #48

Hi! Happy Saturday! I don't know about you, but I was so relieved when this week ended. Mostly because it was (a) the end of the quarter at school and that just means lots of grading, etc (b) we start Spring Break on Tuesday (thanks to a snow make up day on Monday) and mostly because (c) I had to finish 80 letter shirts by Friday! Whew! So ... I was more than excited to play with some paper, ink and stamps today! :-)

I started off with this week's 2 Sketches 4 You sketch #48 + bonus. You can see the sketches here. Here's my card for the original sketch ...
I had a hard time getting a good photo, but I think you can get the idea. :-) I kept my version of the sketch as a clean & simple card by creating a pattern on the card stock for the top portion of the sketch. Next time, I will plan out my dots a little better for balancing the rhinestones out better, but I am just happy I got to make some cards so I won't get too Type A on myself.

This next card was for the bonus sketch. I used some My Mind's Eye paper that I have been hoarding for quite some time on this one. Love how it turned out. The little frame is from PTI's Fillable Frames #2 and I cut off the loops when I trimmed the frame out.Well, that's all I've got for today. Will have some more of this pretty My Mind's Eye paper for you tomorrow. See you then!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day y'all! Just wanted to stop in and share a few cards I was able to whip up in time to mail out to a few close friends. I made 4 total ... each with a slightly different ribbon/ink combo.
The prototype is the one on the right ... but then I decided to stamp the hearts instead of using plain card stock ... which led to the one on the left and the others below.
The colors in this one seem a little funny here in the photo, but I swear it matched better in real life! :-) I have a busy day to get to, but I hope you all remembered to wear green so you don't get pinched! :-) I certainly did!

Thanks so much for stopping by ... I am so lucky to count many of you as friends! :-)

Supplies Used:
Stamps: PTI Heart Prints, Luck of the Irish
Ink: PTI Chai, Chamomile, Ripe Avocado, New Leaf
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, New Leaf; Cosmo Cricket patterned paper

Hello Friend

Hi all! Just stopping in with a card I made using some fab Jenni Bowlin paper from my March Studio Calico kit. I just love this tile-like pattern on the paper. The color palette was a little different than my usual thing, so I had to really work at it, but I like how it all turned out. I I started with the patterned paper, which has that cool scallop on the bottom. I distressed it and the card base and then created a tag from a rectangle that was trimmed with a corner rounder. That red pinwheely paper is the reverse side of the tiled paper, so it coordinated really nicely. I used a little strip of Enchanted Evening along with the ribbon and ink to match to add a little more blue to the card. Here's a closer view of the details ...
You can see here that I added some brown ink to the flower and button to soften them up a bit. Such a fun card with all these details.

Thanks for checking in today! Hope you have a wonderful day! :-)

Stamps: PTI Friends til the End
Ink: PTI Chai, Enchanted Evening
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, Enchanted Evening; Jenni Bowlin patterned paper

Teacher Bookmarks

Hi and happy Saturday! Hope you are enjoying your day! The weather here is pretty much perfect - 70 degrees, a breeze, and sunny. Maybe some showers tonight, but for now I've got my flip flops on and the windows open!

I wanted to share some bookmarks I made the other day for a coworker. She is the department chair for our English department and she asked if I would make her some bookmarks for the teachers in her department. I kept them pretty simple since I made about 18 of them. (I made three without ribbons too ... for the male teachers! LOL)Well, I better run and get dinner going!

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

Dear Lizzy ... feel better soon

Hiya! TGIF yall! This week has been long for most everyone I know ... so glad its over! Anywho, I wanted to share a quick card I made using some new fab paper. My bff mentioned she wasn't feeling well, so I decided to make a quick cheery card to drop in the mail. Apologies for the terrible photo - it was late and dark in my craft room. But, this Dear Lizzy paper from my March Studio Calico kit is so cute. Love its vintage but modern feel. Very simple card here ... some patterned paper, a distressed strip of the reverse of the paper, ribbon and a sentiment strip. So easy. I did add some blue and tea-colored ink to the sentiment and adhered it with some foam tape. Cuter in real life, I swear! :-)

In other news ... saw the Green Zone tonight. Great movie. But anythin with Matt Damon turns out to be great. (Love the Bourne movies.) Also, was very excited this morning to notice the tulip leaves are coming up! Can't wait to see my tulips again!

That's all for now folks ... I can barely hold my eyes open. :-) Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: PTI On my Couch

Hello

Hello again! Wrapping up a weekend that seemed a bit short after my conference Thursday - Saturday afternoon. But my students did really well and they had a blast, so it was all worth it.

Here's another card I made a week or so ago with some Melissa Frances papers. Sometimes it is nice to not have to make your patterned paper and this paper is so spring-like and fun.
For the sentiment, I used the frame from Luck of the Irish and the sentiment is from Fillable Frames #1. Love that these little mini sets can be used together. Everything got distressed with Chai and Chamomile ink.

Going to keep this short and sweet to get caught up on some things around here. It is going to be a busy week ahead! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Stamps: PTI Luck of the Irish, Fillable Frames #1
Ink: Enchanted Evening, Hibiscus Burst, Chai, Chamomile
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream; Melissa Frances patterned paper

Just Because

Hiya! Happy Wednesday! We had a nice 2-hour delay at school today so that definitely made the middle of the week just a tad bit nicer! :-)

Been really busy this week getting ready to take some students to a state DECA competition this weekend. Hopefully, all will go well and my students will have a great time and maybe bring home some awards!

Here's one of the cards I made this past weekend. Very simple layout and the only stamping is the sentiment. I really {heart} that brown doily paper from Basic Grey, which came with my February Studio Calico kit. Well, that's all I have for you right now. Back to getting ready for my trip! Have a great rest of the week y'all! :)

Thanks for stopping by!
