PTI April Blog Hop

Time for another PTI Blog Hop! This time, Nichole challenged us to use one of Lauren's templates. I decided to use the Rounded Wrap-Up for this one since tomorrow some of my college friends and I are putting together a little mother-daughter tea. Last year we did one and it was so much fun, so we are doing it again to honor our moms.
Lauren's templates are really easy to use and sooo much faster than figuring it out on your own! LOL I have tried several. The Rounded Wrap-Up seemed like a good one for my task of creating some favors and table decorations. The little tea bag pocket card is based off of one that Betsy Veldman created for the April PTI release. You can see her original here. The little box holds a lot of stuff - I have 3 tea bag packets, a pack of Scottish butter cookies and two Ghiradelli chocolate squares! I hope our tea party guests will enjoy both the little tea bag pocket card and the goodies!

Polka Dots and Monograms

I have been busy sewing so I haven't had much time to make anything new in the paper department, so I thought I'd post some things that I made a while ago but haven't gotten around to posting ... so here I have a quick post tonight before I head to bed ...

Anyway ... here's a quick look at some monogram notes I made for one of my customers. She is getting married next month and has been using these for all her shower thank you notes. I am sure her friends and family are loving getting a pretty monogram note of thanks. :-)

Ok people - I am off to bed! I probably should've gone to bed by now since last night I woke up as my husband was getting to bed and I guess I only saw the minutes part of the clock and not the hour because I raced to the bathroom, starting brusing my teeth, and turned on the shower. Then I heard my husband yelling at me asking why I was getting ready for work ... it was only 11:45 pm and NOT 5:30 (ish) AM!!! Wow. I mean I had a stress-filled and crazy Monday, but I didn't think it had worn my brain out that much! LOL

Have a great night! :-)

Supplies Used (all Papertrey Ink unless noted):
Card stock: Pure Poppy, Stampers Select White
Ink: Pure Poppy
Stamps: Polka Dot Basics, JustRite DIY Monogram Kit

Sew, Sister, Sew!

Just popping in to say "hello" before we run out and about. I've been sewing all morning and will be back at it later tonight. Here's some composition book covers I made earlier this week for a customer. These are so fun and the great part is that once you fill up your notebook, you just slide a new one in and keep on journaling! Have a great evening! :-)

Sparkly Tulips!

HAPPY FRIDAY! I have been looking forward to Friday all week! LOL Anyway ... its been a long week and kind of stressful at work, so its good to get out of there for a few days! I am still super swamped with orders for letter shirts, but I hope to sneak in a card or two over the weekend as a sewing break! :-)

This is a card I made for my PTI swap. Its a pretty simple layout, but I like that the one tulip hangs over into the borders. Love these super springy colors. I even added some Stardust Stickles to make them sparkly. Hope my PTI swapping friends like this one!

Back to the sewing machine I go ...

Recycled Paper ...

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a great Easter and wonderful weekend. We did here in these parts. Church was awesome and we got to spend some time with the fam, so it was great. Sorry for the lack of posts in the past few days, I am pretty swamped with orders right now, so my posts may be a bit sporadic for the next week or so.

This card is for my PTI swap over at SCS. This round our hostess challenged us to use up some scraps for a "recycled" card in honor of Earth day next week. Well, once I got my scraps organized by color in an accordian file, I decided to take on the challenge so here's my card.
I really like how it turned out. It almost seems cartoonish with that big flower, but I think its cute. Its loosely based on the Fall to Layout #37 with a few minor changes. Hope my fellow swappers like my take on the use of scraps! :-)

Back to the sewing machine!

Combined Sketch Card

Happy Friday! My husband had the day off today so we (I mean, he) got some flowers planted - some pretty zinnias and a new pot of geraniums. I took a break this evening to make a card for a few sketches. This card combines Kristina's Color Inspiration #49 and 2 Sketches 4 You #23. I really love the fabric that Kristina had for the color inspiration - in fact, I recently bought some. It's actually a navy background in real life, but I liked using the black in the challenge. I had a whale of a time trying to get this sketch together - mostly what to do about that strip along the side. I tried ribbon but settled on a scallop edge peeking out the side. I can't stop making these cute 4-1/4" square cards. I promise to try some regular A2 sizes soon! LOL Here's my card ...
I made all my own patterned paper for this one ... using PTI Polka Dot Basics and also Faux Ribbon. Fun! I love making my own patterned paper. Details on my supplies are below. I have to run out - we are off to celebrate a good friend's birthday!

Supplies Used:
Card Stock: SU Pacific Point, Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red; PTI Stampers Select White, True Black
Stamps: PTI Polka Dot Basics, Faux Ribbon
Ink: Palette Noir Black, New Canvas
Ribbon: Offray (craft store), hemp twine
Button: PTI Vintage button Hibiscus Burst
Tools: Scor-Pal, sticky tape, SU Scallop Edge punch, Spellbinders Nesting Flower dies

Easter Blessings

Happy Thursday all! I have been busy sewing up some t-shirts and I got about 16 shirts in the mail today! Thank goodness ... I have some large orders to get started on.

I took a break tonight to whip up some Easter cards for some good buddies and some family. I really like how they turned out and they went pretty quick as far as mass producing goes. A little Nestabilities action with the circle dies. I stamped the images and then colored them in with Copics. Added a scallop border to some paper strips and then a bit of ribbon. Hopefully some of the recipients will get them before Easter! LOL I did also stamp "He has risen! Luke 24:6" on the inside, but forgot to take a photo.Alright, back to the ironing board! :-) Have a great night everyone! I will post the winner of my Blog Candy in the morning!
Supplies Used:
Card Stock: SU! Cameo Coral, PTI Vintage Cream, Kraft

Edited to add ... I just realized this fit Janet's challenge this week, so I posted it on her challenge blog!

Raspberry Fizz Oh My!

My buddy Sara on SCS has a weekly color challenge SCA3C19. I have been trying to play, but finally got a chance this week. She challenged us to use the Raspberry Fizz color and patterned papers. Well, I have been hoarding the paper and decided to make something fun with it. So, I got out my Spellbinders Nesting Flower dies and this is what happened ...I used some True Black scraps to make the stripes in the background and another scrap of Raspberry Fizz for the sentiment. I think its pretty cute. Here's a closer view of the flower - I folded up the petals a bit and the whole thing is popped up on foam tape for some dimension.
Have a great Wednesday everyone! I will be working away at the sewing machine - hip hip hooray for Spring Break!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #3

Wow ... this week's color challenge was a challenge! Not that there were too many colors, but just that they were colors I wouldn't normally put together. But, I do like my clean and simple card that I put together ...I started by making some patterned paper with PTI's anniversary set - Everyday Classics. I stamped the floral image on Vintage Cream card stock in Melon Berry ink. I went back and added some Pure Poppy red polka dots with a dot stamp from Polka Dot Basics. It seemed a bit overwhelming, so I tapped the whole thing with my New Canvas ink pad to tone it down a bit and make the paper a bit softer looking. Nice effect. I wanted the pattern to be the star of the show, so I left it at that. I added a sentiment onto SU! Pink Pirouette paper in Melon Berry ink (again from Everyday Classics) and stuck that down on foam tape. A little Melon Berry satin ribbon and that was it! Here's a close up of the sentiment.
Hope you like my take on the challenge. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Don't forget to comment on my blog candy post!

Kristina's Color Inspiration #48

Time for another Color Inspiration Challenge from Kristina! She challenged us to use Chocolate Chip, White, Baja Breeze, and Kiwi Kiss. I decided to break out the Anniversary set from PTI called Everyday Classics for the cupcake. I think it turned out pretty cute - minus the big bow it could be appropriate as a "dude" card. LOL
I will be back tomorrow with some more challenge cards! Don't forget to comment on my Blog Candy post from yesterday.
