Thinking of You

Hiya! The other day I showed you some fun seam binding and mentioned I'd have some projects using it in the future. Well, here's my first one ... using the pretty Peacock color! :-) I went for a vintage vibe on this one. I started by adhering 3 strips of the seam binding along the edge of the background paper. Then I tied another strip in a bow and jazzed it up with a red button and twine. Its hard to tell in the photo, but there's a hint of glitter in the seam binding ribbon.

I used a butterfly from Victorian Scrapworks. I added some foam under the body and wings to give it some movement. I created the red background paper by stamping off on a scrap before stamping on the red. I wanted brown dots, but I wanted them to seem more aged. I think stamping off first worked out nicely.

That little sentiment is cute with the typewriter-y text and the cursive. Its from the Fillable Frames #2 from PTI. I love how simple this card was to create as well as the old, vintage-y feel that it has.

The seam binding is really lightweight and easy-to-tie. It also smushes down easily, which is great for mailing off cards ... a much flatter bow than a thick grosgrain ribbon would give you. :-)

Thanks for stopping by!
