Hello all! I had the opportunity to visit Louisville last weekend and into this week for a national DECA conference with one of my students. One of the highlights of the trip was visiting Churchill Downs on Saturday for opening day. We got there pretty early and saw the first four races ... and then came the rain! LOL But it was a really neat experience. And I had a great time watching and betting on the races! :-)
Here's some pictures of the famed Churchill Downs. This first one is of the grandstand before the crowds flowed in. And here's one of the track prior to the races ...And here's one of some horses making their way to the starting gate on the other side of the track. And in honor of the Kentucky Derby today, I made a card inspired by the "Run for the Roses" theme of the race. I used some pretty toile paper and added some roses from some awesome ribbon by Webster's Pages. I cut the roses out from the ribbon and placed them on separately. Here's a closer view of the roses and sentiment. I definiteily need to get this ribbon in some other colors ... like pink! :-) That's all for now. Thanks for stopping by! :-)
